Republican Congressman from Texas, Louie Gohmert appeared to lose a tooth in the middle of a press conference he had on Tuesday December 8.
Gohmert was voicing his opposition to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which would rename several military bases and other government property named after Confederate leaders.
With cameras rolling, one of the congressman’s teeth fell out as he spoke to the press. Rather than pause to spit out the runaway tooth, a viral video showed Gohmert carrying on with the presser while rolling the sucker around in his mouth.
Gohmert who tested positive for the Coronavirus in July, has publicly refused to wear a mask during the pandemic. According to the New York Times, people with pre-existing dental issues who had coronavirus have complained of losing their teeth, but there isn’t evidence-backed research to link the two yet.

Reacting to being mocked on social media after losing his tooth on TV, Gohmert tweeted;
“Reporters are already more interested in covering the fact that my temporary crown came loose during today’s press conference than they ever were in reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop or the rampant election fraud in the 2020 race.”
