The Wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, on Tuesday welcomed the students of the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Jangebe who were abducted but got their freedom on Tuesday.
Matawalle in a statement issued in Gusau by her Press Secretary, Zainab Abdullahi, urged the schoolgirls who just regained their freedom from their abductors not to be discouraged.
The governor’s wife who said she was overjoyed by the release of the girls, advised the students to have the aspiration of furthering their education.
She commended her husband for his efforts which led to the release of the abducted schoolgirls.
The wife of the governor also said the girls, parents and the entire people of the state should consider the incident as an act of God.
“My words to the victims is that you should not be discouraged over this sad incident. You must aspire to further your education. We are proud of you,” she said.
She appealed to the people of the state to continue to offer prayers for the sustenance of peace and stability in the state.
