There was a coup attempt early Tuesday in Sudan, just sixteen days after the civil authority in Guinea was dethroned.
“There has been a failed coup attempt, the people should confront it”, state media reported.
The plotters had attempted to take over state radio in Omdurman but “failed”.
The building is across the Nile River from the capital Khartoum.
Mohamed al-Faki Suleiman, Sovereign Council spokesman said the Sudanese army will issue a statement on the development.
“All is under control. The revolution is victorious”, Suleiman assured on a Facebook post.
