The abductors of the twins children of the popular Ibadan-based cleric, Sheikh Taofeek Akewugbagold has reached out to the parents.
Akeugbagold who disclosed that the abductors of his twins have reached out to the family, said the abductors assured his family that the victims were in good spirit.
Akeugbagold, who disclosed this in a telephone conversation with journalists, however refused to give details of the demands by the abductors.
He confirmed that about four suspects have been arrested by the police but insisted that those arrested were his workers whom the police suspected.
He said, “We have been contacted. They have contacted us. We pray that God touch their minds.
“We don’t want to involve the police. I will not like to speak on the ransom.
“Yes, police arrested some people, but they are my workers. They are not the abductors. But, we did not suspect anybody. I am sorry I can’t speak on ransom. I don’t want to speak on that”.
The Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, a Superintendent of Police ( SP), Olugbenga Fadeyi confirmed the abduction, said, “yes, there was an abduction of Akewugbagold twins last night.
“Efforts intensified, arrests were made and currently assisting the police in investigations”.
