The #iStandWithBuhari, a voluntary pro-Buhari group, is organizing a rally for President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
Tagged “Ndigbo Solidarity March for Buhari”, the rally which is to hold Saturday, October 13, in Enugu state, has as its theme: No Vacancy in Aso Rock.
In a release, the groups Deputy National Coordinator South, Hon. Chineme Edwin Ume-Ezeoke said the rally was to highlight Buhari’s achievements in the region.
“Buhari has done well in infrastructure development in the South Eastern states, therefore need our support to continue in office”, said Ume-Ezeoke.
The group claims to be active in all the 774 local government areas, with over 23 million members with registered voters’ card. According to Ume-Ezeoke, “this provides us the platform to mobilize support on behalf of the President.”
Continuing, he said, “We also have a pro-government publication that seeks to bridge the gap between the leadership and the people through the promotion of the government’s achievements. It is a weekly newspaper publication with a print volume of 10,000 copies and is distributed free in Nigeria.”
In preparation for the rally and election, Ume-Ezeoke said the group has already commenced mobilizing structures in all the 36 states of the federation down to all polling unit levels to “support the President’s reelection in 2019.”
